I had a really odd lesson at pole yesterday… Som

I had a really odd lesson at pole yesterday…
Some lessons I don’t feel strong enough to do the moves…
But yesterday my brain was not sending any signals to my body and limbs and I’d completely forgotten how to do so many moves that I can usually easily do!!!
Oh well… still better than the me that would have been sat on the sofa had I not shown up!

CONSENT
Consent is such an important word.
It’s such an important “thing”.
As women, we don’t always think we can demand consent.
I am here to tell you that CONSENT is your birth right.
Choice is your birthright.
Body autonomy is your birthright.

For the KATwalk, and the entirety of the unapologetic day and project leading up to it, consent was at the forefront of everything.
Choice was at the forefront of everything.

The women were allowed to choose how they wanted to show up in their bodies.
It wasn’t about taking their clothes of.
It was about the rig by to take them off it they wanted and leave them on if they wanted.
This was about ownership of their bodies.
This was about choice.

And they also had choice over how they wanted to appear on social media and on my website in their bodies.

Some wanted to show all.
Some wanted to blur their faces.
Some wanted to not be shown at all.

Everything was a choice.
Everything was accepted.
Everything was ok.

Remember you have a choice.
There is power in knowing you have consent.

Unfortunately the choice has been taken away from sharing these amazing women without stickers on their bodies.

But still I want to share and honour these women.
I still have utterly no words for how amazingly earth shattering this live show was.

Just show up.
I say it all the time.
You don’t need to change the world.
Just show up for yourself.
Every.
Single.
Day.
However that looks for you.
For me, it’s approving of myself.
Some days I like myself.
Some days I absolutely don’t.
Other days I love myself.
But every day, I make sure I approve of myself.
Because I know that i’m trying my best.
Before love and like must come approval.
Try it today…
Approve of yourself.
Approve of your choices.
Approve of your body.
Approve of decisions.
And then do it again tomorrow.
Show up… every day.
For yourself.

I still have utterly no words for how amazingly earth shattering this live show was.

60 women.
Body paint. No clothes.
1 KATwalk.
There are no words for the magnitude of this.
The power of the women.
The way they showed up for themselves.
Stepping out of their comfort zones.
Fierce.
Sisterhood.
Authentic in their bodies.
LIBERATION.

Obviously I have to be careful what I share… so here is a teaser…
The real professional photos (taken by the outstanding Claire Waters) (and without the modesty stickers!!!) will be uploaded onto my website as soon as I’ve worked out how (for those who have given consent) as well as the videos!

But for now… enjoy!!!

On 9th March, the MOST amazing gathering happened.
Mind blowing.
Earth shattering.
Life changing.

A gathering of women who realised that enough was enough.
Enough apologising.
Enough making themselves small.
Enough conforming.
Enough modifying behaviour.
Enough shrinking.

A gathering of women who wanted to stand up.
Speak out.
Be seen.
Be heard.
Be authentic.
Be themselves unapologetically.

I haven’t really shared much about this life changing day for many reasons…
Because I’m still processing such immense shifts.
Because my brain has been in shut down ever since due to overwhelm.
Because I’m still moving through the soul destroying grief AND INJUSTICE of having every single post taken down and being silenced daily.

But I think now is the time to try again.

So many of you still didn’t know about this event, but hopefully the photos will give you some idea of how empowering this day was.
Of how important this message is.
Of how important representation is.
Of how important equality is.
Of how important authenticity is.
Of how important sisterhood is.

Of how vital my work is.

I would love people to see it.
I would love people to see my work again.
I would love people to hear my voice again.
I would love women to feel empowered again.

During the Unapologetic day, one of the most fundamental parts was the women who gathered….
They held each other up
They supported each other
They wiped each others tears
They cheerleaded each other
They laughed together
They shared their stories
They were together
As one
We were together
In circle
Interconnected

Sisterhood is priceless.

Some days I literally think I cannot carry on.

And then I get a message like this.
And it makes me realise how important my voice is.
