This is how they do it...
This is how they silence you...
They tell you that you’re wrong...
That your opinion doesn’t fit...
They plant the seeds of doubt...
They accuse you...
They make you believe them...
They remove your voice...
They shut you down...
They ignite the inner dialogue...
I’m not worthy...
I’ve done something terrible...
They must be right...
I must be wrong...
I need to quieten my voice...
I’ll get found out again...
I must hide...
I can’t breathe...
I have to conform...
The modern day witch hunt.

I’m posting my body.
It’s not sexual or shameful.
But they tell me it is.
And they shut my page.
I believe in my fight.
But they have the power.
They make threats.
And I move into fear based reaction.
I have a daughter to look after.
And myself.
I need to pay rent.
No page, no promotion, no money, no rent.
No network of women who need empowering.
I do this for me.
I do this for you.
I don’t want to hate my body.
But it’s banned as not being “acceptable”.
I’m know I’ve done nothing wrong.
But have no power.
Being shut down.
Silenced.
Persecuted.
Going into hiding.
To protect my soul.
To protect myself.
To protect this page I’ve built.
To protect my daughter.
To protect my animals.
To protect my income.
To protect all of you who find empowerment in this page, that it’ll be here tomorrow.
Living in fear.
Having to tow the line.

If you love yourself “regardless” it puts the emphasis on the fact that you’re having to try and love the bits that are deemed unloveable…
“Oh well, my belly wobbles, and that’s not ok by society’s standards but I’ll love myself regardless…”

I have a belly, back rolls, dimples on my ass, tits that are not upright anymore, and I love my body BECAUSE of all of those things xxxx

My first field festival… Usually I’m an indoor

My first field festival…
Usually I’m an indoor exhibition kind of gal!
But I spent the weekend with besties and lovely people, talking about self-love, and all things witchy!
Loads of my art found new homes and I held 2 amazing workshops - 1 about Kali obvs! And another to heal the witch wound…
I met amazing women who will be coming to the barn, slept in a luxurious bell tent and absolutely laughed deliriously until I couldn’t breathe!
If I decide to do more field events I will be making my stall more beautiful and less car boot sale, but it was windy AF and this was the old weather beaten gazebo from the barn!
The only downside was the migraine that lasted the entirety of the festival… I took codeine all day every day to make it through, and today my body is in withdrawal, giving me a pounding headache so I feed it codeine… but I’m in withdrawal now! See you on the other side of the codeine cold-turkey…

My most common reaction to my art is “wow, I’ve never seen a body that looks like mine in art before.”

Self love doesn’t happen easily. It isn’t auto

Self love doesn’t happen easily.
It isn’t automatically there every day.
Self doubt creeps in.
It’s impossible to sometimes ignore the photoshop fakery of perfection that society ingrains into our soul.
Patriarchal bollocks is rooted deeply within every particle of our being.
How we “should look”

So here’s my advice…

Remember who you are.
Remember you’re fierce.
Remember you’re a goddess.
Show up for yourself every day.
Take small steps.
Stop comparing yourself to others.
Have your own back.
Embrace yourself.

The second you stop buying into the system, it will all change.
Look at the bodies that are celebrated in the media if you have to, but remind yourself that they’re heavily photoshopped and filtered.
Surround yourself also with “normal” bodies of all shapes and sizes, because normal is glorious.

Change your eyes.
Change your perception of beauty.
Realise your own worthiness within your imperfectly perfect body.

Embrace all that you are.
