Survivors

Survivors

An inspirational art exhibition by Kat Shaw.

We will not let the past define our lives.
We will show the world that surviving can be beautiful.
We are here, living, despite it all.  We will always rise, and we will do so with strength and dignity.
We bow down to the universe, which is proud of what we are.
We are the magical souls whose spirits cannot be broken and whose strength cannot be questioned.

We are the survivors.

“The Survivors” began as a series of 85 paintings of glorious women who have survived. They have used the broken pieces of their lives to build a bridge and walk with power, inspired by the poem And Still I Rise by Maya Angelou.

The project became so monumental for so many women that Kat continued to paint, and there are now over 200 women in the collection.

Read the words of these gorgeous Goddesses as they tell their tales of surviving and thriving.
